Upon turning on your NavNet, you will eventually see a completely black screen containing a disclaimer. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a long list of numbers. Like the picture on the left. This is version 24 of a Navnet 1 (Navionics). Don’t pay any attention to the number after the comma or the numbers before 24. Your version number may be different. Just remember the last two numbers before the comma is what version you’re dealing with. Although it’s always better to get all the digits just in case you mess up. And that’s it. There are a few other ways to find this same number but this one is by far the easiest. The VX2 displays it’s software version the very same way. Just be sure that you tell whom ever you speak to which navnet it is.
We offer a conversion process of changing your unit from C-map to Navionics or vice-versa. Please keep in mind all of your settings will need to be redone as they will be lost in the conversion process. This also includes radar settings. Please call our staff and inquire about this process if you have any questions.
NN3D V2.02 Software (latest 6-29-09)
It is very important that you stay in touch with the latest software for Furuno’s Navnet3D system. If you find that you do not have the latest version and would like to have us install it, contact our staff to schedule a service call to your vessel or drop-off/ship the unit to us. Please give us a call for details.
Listed below are some of the changes made from version 2.01 to version 2.02:

If you are experiencing problems with your vx2 unit you may need a software upgrade. This is a service that we can provide for you either on the bench or onsite. Your waypoints/routes/user settings will be saved during the process. If you need this upgrade please call and speak to our staff.
Ver 3.04, 07 C-MAP and Ver 3.04,06 Navionics
The Internal Battery
The internal battery that keeps your waypoints/routes/user settings may need to be changed out to maintain the most optimum of performance in your VX2 unit. If the battery goes dead, you lose everything just mentioned. They normally last 5-6 years although some can last longer, you may be taking a chance. Unfortunately, this can not be handled on site. This is a bench process in which your waypoints/routes/user settings are saved to a SDCARD then the battery is replaced. Once that has been performed everything is reloaded back into your unit. You may ship the unit to us or drop it off if you require this service. Give a call to our staff here at M.S.E. and we will be more than happy to coordinate this with you.
Check your software. If you need an upgrade, we can perform one for you. Listed below is the latest software version for the Navnet 1 by Furuno. Depending on what version you have, your unit may need to be set back up and seatrialed.

A note on your battery that is installed in your navnet 1/VX2:
These batteries depending on environment last about 5-6 years. There are some that may last longer but you are taking your chances with your settings and waypoints/routes being lost.
We can save your waypoints and routes and perform the battery replacement. We do want you to know that upon replacement of a battery your user settings such as radar alignment, tuning and other features will need to be set back up once the unit is back aboard the vessel. If this is a service that you would like us to perform, we will gladly take care of this for you. A seatrial would be required for the radar tuning/setup procedure. Give us a call for more information.
